School Psychologist- Salida Middle School 2024-2025 School Year

This is a grant funded position designed to address the mental health needs of students and work collaboratively with staff and families. The School Health Professional Grant (SHPG School Psychologist reports directly to the building principal and superintendent. The SHPG School Psychologist will help lead teams and teachers who oversee emotionally disabled students, including all evaluations, behavior plans, and direct services. An ability to de-escalate student behavior is essential. The school SHPG School Psychologist attends IEP meetings as requested by case managers and provides cogent reports for staff within a timely manner. The SHPG School Psychologist also works directly with building counselors to support both MTSS and RTI program, including necessary observations, assessments, and reports. The SHPG School Psychologist will provide necessary training to all staff as needed. The SHPG School Psychologist also collaborates with administrators and counselors to conduct threat assessments and is available to consult with parents as needed. This position requires a high degree of collaborative communication and leadership. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills. Written reports require a skill set that allows for efficiency and accessibility. A high level of autonomy is expected with equal amounts of self-management.
