Job Title: High School Language Arts Teacher
Reports to: High School Assistant Principal
Salary: $43,000 - $50,632
Work year: 166 days
Job Summary:
West Grand School District 1-Jt is looking for a passionate High School Language Arts Teacher to help students in grades 9-12 develop and flourish throughout the school year. Creating a classroom environment that develops in each student skills of listening, speaking reading and writing that are fundamental to effective communication and literate citizenship
Qualifications:
-Must possess a Colorado Teacher License or be able to obtain one.
-Preferred secondary school teaching experience.
-Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
-Proven problem-solving skills.
Essential Functions:
-Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
-Ability to communicate in ways students will understand.
-Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
-Strong communications, public relations and interpersonal skills.
-Demonstrates success in assisting English Language Learners to develop English oral proficiency and proficiency in reading and writing.
-Demonstrates success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvements issues.
-Teaches content and skills in English language, literature, composition, reading, journalism to high school students.
-Adapts English material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge students.
-Knowledge of MTSS
-Other responsibilities as assigned.
