Summary:
Grand Valley Middle School is seeking applications for the Head Boys' Basketball Coach for 7th grade for the 2024 Season. This is a part-time, seasonal, salaried position located in Parachute, CO. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Responsibilities Include:
• Reinforce effective operation and management of the basketball program, which would include, but not limited to planning, organizing, and promoting safety for the Grand Valley Basketball Team, Activities Department, and PEG League rules.
• Demonstrate productive coaching strategies, skills, and knowledge of basketball (both offensive and defensive) to athletes.
• Establish effective communication and build quality relationships with student participants, parents, and community in general.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for athletes during practice and games.
• Assist the student athlete in the areas of academic excellence, eligibility, and provide an atmosphere of personal growth.
• A genuine commitment and work ethic to Grand Valley Middle School philosophies, students, staff, and surrounding community.
• Supervise students before, during, and after practice until parent/guardian arrives to pick up the athlete.
• Produce, implement, and utilize effective weekly game plans to enhance and evaluate athletes at all levels of skill development.
Desired Qualifications:
• Three or more years of basketball coaching experience.
• Skills related to coaching, teaching, and mentoring athletes.
• Interest and enthusiasm for sports.
• Ability to inspire confidence and motivate athletes.
• Knowledge of PEG League rules and regulations.
• Knowledge and management of sports-related injuries.
Required Qualifications:
• Must have a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Must have Concussion certification from the NFHS.
• Must complete school district small vehicle training
• Must complete Mandatory Reporter Training.
