Position Overview
Beaver Valley Elementary School in the Brush School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate elementary school teacher to join our educational community. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment that fosters academic growth, social development, and a love of learning in all students.
Responsibilities
● Plan and implement engaging, standards-based lessons that meet the diverse needs of all students
● Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and social-emotional development
● Assess student learning through formal and informal methods and use data to inform instruction
● Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
● Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and other staff to coordinate curriculum and share best practices
● Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
● Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
● Supervise students during non-instructional times as assigned (recess, lunch, etc.)
● Participate in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities as appropriate
● Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and guidelines
● Willingness to engage in leadership tasks while working with peers.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field (required)
● Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate elementary education endorsement
● Knowledge of current educational research, best practices, and Colorado Academic Standards
● Experience with differentiated instruction and meeting diverse student needs
● Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community members
● Proficiency with educational technology and instructional tools
● Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment practices
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience teaching at the elementary level
● Training or experience in specific instructional approaches valued by our district
● Experience with PLCs (Professional Learning Communities)
● Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements
● Ability to stand for extended periods
● Ability to move around the classroom and school building
● Ability to physically assist students as needed
● Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
