SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing elementary level students in appropriate subject areas in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of District and state content standards.

INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:
• Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required. 
• Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required. 
• Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred. 
• CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged. 
• Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students’ assignments and assessments.
• Participate in professional growth opportunities.
• English language skills. 
• Math and accounting skills. 

PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN:
• Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one situations.
• Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.

• Oral and written communication skills. 
• Bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.

AGENCY:
• Develop, plan, prepare, and implement: 
o Course content, format, structure, and schedule.
o Individualized programs of instruction for students.
o Classroom materials and curriculum. 
o Lesson plans and learning activities. 
• Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use the data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction. 
• Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
• Support all Garfield County School District 16 policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Interpersonal relations skills. 
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities. 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Operating knowledge of and experience with typical educational/instructional technology equipment and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required. 
• Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required. 

Reports to: Principal 

Direct Reports: Responsible for supervising the behavior and well-being of students in the classroom, getting on and off the bus, at recess, lunch, and to and from classes. 

BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY: Assist with planning and monitoring classroom/department budget.
