The Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
-Colorado teaching certification.
-Prior experience working with at-risk youth.
-Certified in relevant subject area /areas.
-Computer skills as well as experience with on-line educational programs.
-Demonstrates strong work ethic and time management skills.
-Accepts responsibility and is self-motivated.
-Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
-Able to work both independently and with a team.
-Highly skilled at combining expectation with compassion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Increases the Academic Stamina in struggling learners.
-Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
-Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement while implementing differentiated instructional practices for individual student success.
-Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
-Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
-Provides hands-on experiences for children and thinks outside the box.
-Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other personnel on an as needed basis.
-Collaborates with the RTI/PLC team as well as other school employees to enhance the instructional environment.
-Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
-Meets deadlines for district/school reports and is able to demonstrate gains in student performance.
-Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisors.
REPORTS TO: School Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 164 days. Regular teacher contract as per Board policy
