Job Description:
• This position requires a solid understanding and ability to demonstrate reading, writing, and math skills
• The ability to take advice regarding ways of helping students meet his/her IEP goals is essential to this position.
• This position requires a caring, focused, and responsible disposition while working closely with a small number of Mild/Moderate Needs students.
• Day-to-day duties will include: small-group teaching, 1-on-1 pull-out and in-class support as it pertains to specific student needs.
• Work with teachers to appropriately modify assignments as needed. Assisting students with testing accommodations during classroom, district, state, and national assessments.
• This position also includes some school duties such as playground or lunchroom duty.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 year associate's degree or 2 years of verifiable college course work (48 semester hours) OR the ability to successfully pass the WorkKeys proficiency test
• Licensed as registered Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Colorado Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications - or ability to certify
• Ability to become CPI Restraint Trained
• Preference given to individuals who have taken classes in education and/or successfully demonstrated their ability to work with young children
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Valid Colorado Driver's License
