POSITION TITLE: ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Colorado Teacher Certificate/License (Elementary)

2. Flexibility and creativity in approaches to teaching/learning

3. Willingness to work in a team environment

4. Knowledge of the state content standards and assessment process

REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Superintendent

JOB GOALS:

Provide developmentally appropriate instruction for all students in your classroom.

Provide appropriate management strategies in your classroom and at duties assigned by the principal.

Communicate effectively with the students, staff, parents and community.

Participate in ongoing professional development activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Determine educational needs of students.

Plan and implement lessons that will meet the needs of the students.

Monitor student behavior and work with principal and parent when appropriate to address inappropriate behavior by a student.

Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.

Coordinate learning activities with colleagues in the building.

Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Principal/Superintendent.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the building principal/Superintendent.
