Job Title: HEA/Crest Special Education Teacher- Horizons Exploratory Academy and Crest Academy

Work under the direction of the school principal. The special education teacher plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aids, accommodations, and other needed supports. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills. Written reports require a skill set that allows for efficiency and accessibility. This position requires a high degree of collaborative communication and leadership, and the teacher must be able to work collaboratively with fellow teachers. The teacher is expected to participate in district development of curriculum and instruction. Salary is based on a 156-day work calendar, scheduled with the supervisor.
