Elementary Title I Interventionist

The primary duty of a Title I Literacy Teacher is to offer small group reading intervention to students in grades
K-5.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum: Bachelor’s degree with teaching certification.
2. Three years of successful teaching experience. Must have a strong background in teaching literacy skills or
have a certification in literacy.
3. Strong background in instructional planning.
4. Experience in teacher leadership, learning focused conversations, and/or cognitive coaching preferred.
5. Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
7. Strong decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills.
8. Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively in a team setting.
9. Ability to utilize formative and summative assessments to assess student learning.
10. Ability to establish good rapport with students and understand their needs and social development.
11. Ability to remain flexible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversees and implements Tier II and Tier III reading intervention at the building.
2. Manages and facilitates staff development activities for literacy
3. Provides instructional support and coaching to all teachers to develop instructional schedules to meet
the needs of students.
4. Assists with data analysis and reporting for the Read Act
5. Oversees reading benchmark assessments and progress monitoring
REPORTS TO: Building Administration
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 164 days per school year. It may include additional days at the stipend rate.
