Curriculum and Instruction Director

The district is looking for a Curriculum and Instruction Director to support the Superintendent and Board of Education in ensuring all academic programs are of high quality. The individual will report directly to the Superintendent. The individual will collaborate with building principals to ensure a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all students–preschool through 12th grade. The development of the certified faculty will be the primary responsibility of this individual, including: professional development, licensure, mentoring, curriculum adoption, and best practices in pedagogy. This individual will work closely with principals to ensure that faculty are offering quality lesson plans and effectively using instructional minutes. The individual will assist principals with specific evaluations. The individual will lead the implementation of all state testing and all local assessments to monitor the performance of students, keeping the Board of Education informed. The individual will oversee gifted and talented programming. The individual will develop and lead academic vertical teams. This position requires a high degree of collaborative communication and leadership. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills. Written reports require a skill set that allows for efficiency and accessibility. A high level of autonomy is expected with equal amounts of self-management.
