Work as a team member under the direction of the school principal. This position requires planning, organizing, and implementing a developmentally appropriate early childhood classroom. Classrooms should meet the individual needs of children in accordance with the program curriculum by developing and implementing daily lesson plans based on Colorado state standards, Head Start Performance Standards, and Child Care Licensing Regulations. The teacher will observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, and social development. The teacher will also interact with children individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet children’s varying needs. The position requires planning and conducting experiences for a balanced program of play-driven interactions for students’ diverse backgrounds and abilities. This position requires a high degree of collaborative communication and leadership. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills. Written reports require a skill set that allows for efficiency and accessibility. The teacher must be able to work collaboratively with fellow teachers. Teachers are expected to participate in the district's development of curriculum and instruction.
