Salary: Licensed Teacher (range $48,000 - $75,163 based on the 24/25 Salary Schedules & Education)
Additional Duty Stipend: Stipend for additional responsibilities including management and supervision

Summary of Position:
In the Teaching and Learning Academy (TLA) educator teams work together with distributed expertise to support a shared roster of students. The educator team, typically comprising credentialed teachers, para-educators, aspiring teachers, specialists, and/or community educators, use formative data and other evidence of student learning to move educators and students fluidly across multiple shared spaces, prioritizing deeper and personalized learning for students.

Each educator team is guided by a Lead Teacher who will support a shared roster of learners with the educator team and directly interact with students at least 50% of the time. Additionally, the Lead Teacher will guide the educator team in sharing responsibility for all elements of student support, instructional planning and delivery (e.g., lesson planning, instruction, assessment, data analysis and grading).

The Lead Teacher guides the educator team in maintaining high expectations for student learning and ensures the educator team functions at a high level to serve all learners by strength and need. The Lead Teacher makes space for sharing team members’ ideas and innovations to improve student learning. They co-plan, co-teach, model, coach and give feedback to their team members. Further, they serve as the primary facilitator of parent communication, ensuring transparency and fostering relationships between families and the school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assume all duties and responsibilities of a licensed elementary educator for the grade level, plus:
-Supervise, Coach and Mentor the Instructional Facilitator and Instructional Assistants and direct them in delivering effective instruction.
-Coach and Mentor the TLA Teacher.
-Provide evaluation input to the Building Evaluator
-Collaborate with all members of the Teaching and Learning Academy grade and school level teams
-Demonstrate innovation and flexibility in addressing the evolving needs of students and educators by adapting curriculum materials and resources to meet the diverse learning needs and interests of students, embracing change and proactively seeking opportunities for improvement within the educator team and broader educational community, and collaborating with colleagues to explore innovative solutions to educational challenges and share successful practices with others.
-Serve as the facilitator for parent communications.
-Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture within the instructional team by encouraging open communication and active listening as well as recognizing and valuing the diverse strengths and contributions of each team member.
-Provide constructive feedback and facilitate productive discussions to promote professional growth and collaboration among team members.
-All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Abilities:
-Ability to develop comprehensive instructional plans that the educator team will deliver with other instructional staff to students.
-Ability to lead and collaborate with adults as a productive, contributing team member.
-Ability to connect with and have positive relationships with young children and their parents.
-Possess excellent organizational skills that capitalize on the ability to use data to drive instructional decisions and plans.

Education/Certification:
-Bachelor’s degree in Education; Master’s degree preferred
-A Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the elementary level
-Valid Colorado Teaching License with an endorsement in elementary education (K-6)
-Science of Reading training completion/ “READ Act” designation
-Proficiency in the Science of Reading
-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
-Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
-Experience/training in Inquiry Based Instructional Models

Experience Preferred:
-Experience in providing instructional coaching to teachers, including modeling effective teaching strategies, observing classroom instruction, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth.
-Understanding of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) principles and practices, including collaborative team structures, collective inquiry, action research, and data analysis protocols.
-Experience facilitating PLC meetings, guiding educators in setting goals, analyzing student data, and making data-driven instructional decisions.
-Proficiency in analyzing various forms of student data (e.g., formative assessments, standardized test results, behavioral data) to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
-Experience using data visualization tools and educational software platforms to track student progress, identify trends, and adjust instructional practices accordingly.

-Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 5 to 25 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
-This type of work involves sitting, walking, and/or standing.

-Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
